Great article. It's nice to find someone else thinking along the same lines. I wrote about Mutli-Touch iTables and Mutli-Touch Dual-Screen Macbooks back in Jan.

When I started thinking about this, my head went spinning. It seems such an obvious next step in how to control computers. As I said above; "the worlds most advanced OS, Mac OS X, seem so old-fashioned and restrained".

I don't think Steve Jobs would have compared multitouch to the mouse and the click wheel if it were to be used ONLY in a phone.

Of course not.

I'm absolutely sure that it will find it's way into Mac OS X. And soon.

@ PostFxGuy: yeah, that carpal tunnel syndrome. Nasty stuff. I started using a Wacom tablet when editing in FCP some years ago. Never looked back. I can't edit without a tablet anymore.

Just kidding this would be great, but move over carpal tunnel syndrome, or maybe all of us desk monkeys would be in great shape.

Yeah I can't wait for this technology to come to my desktop. Much as I love Apple and OSX though I think it's wrong of them to act like multitouch is their invention. People like Jeff Han have been developing the concept for years already. I really hope Apple haven't filed any patents that will prevent Jeff from continuing his research.

This makes me want to stand up and shout. I find myself looking at my screen... particulary when I using Logic (not to mention Illustrator) and sensing this little thing inside my head, as I reach for my desk top controller... If I could only touch this screen. It would all come to life. You are really putting it together my friend. The revolution is coming and coming soon.
