Knowledge mapping as a blogging approach

Knowledge mapping as a blogging approach

Originally uploaded by Bertrand.

I found this picture at Flickr today, and then the application which made it, at Compendiuminstitute.

It’s available in both Mac OS X, Windows and Linux flavours. It looks interesting. If you have used it, feel free to comment on this post. Or contact me.

I have worked with different Mac apps that relates to the concept “Knowledge mapping”. From outliners to notebook apps, and more advanced software as Tinderbox. I’m yet to find the right application.

At the moment I’m using OmniOutliner and Notetaker, and also testing the new beta version of Devonthink Professional.

UPDATE: If you’re using Devonthink in some cool way, either tell about it here, or at 43Folders Google group.

Author Steven Berlin Johnson has published an interesting article on how he uses Devonthink to make connections between qoutes he collects from books he read. He also has an update to the article on his blog.

A very interesting post. I have already downloaded Compendium which sounds very interesting and will try it as soon as possible.

I do not know if the way I use Devonthink is cool, but I use it for most of my academic research activities and have a few posts on my blog on implementing GTD with Devonthink. See: http://venier.blogspot.com/2005_04_01_venier_archive.html
