Bunbury storm picture by Joey Caddick

I visited Bunbury, Australia in 1997. We stayed at a hostel, and got up early to go to the beach. After an hour or so, half-sleeping, a person from the Dolphin Discovery Centre told us that the dolphins were in the bay, and that we could enter the water. So we got into the cold water and stood there waiting, about 10 people from all over the world.

Then, two wild dolphins came swimming in, taking their time to swim between all of us. And stopping by the people from the centre to say “hi” in their dolphin way. Very strange experience. Huge animals.

Later, we took the boat out to the sea, and the dolphins were jumping in front of the boat, having fun with us. I’ll have to dig up some old pics from the closet and scan them…

Update

Joey has removed the pictures, but I’m leaving the post as it was. I also found out that he never took the pictures. They are from… (where did I put that bookmark) I’ll find it soon!

Update 2

Ah, found it. The amazing hurricane pictures were take by Mike Hollingshead. You can easily spend a few hours looking at his pictures over at Extremeinstability.com.

The ones I have gotten e-mailed most times, are these. Often described as coming from hurricane Katrina. But taken at Highway 12 in Nebraska in 2004.
