Mac not accepting correct password

I’m having a similar problem as Charles Arthur. My Mac is asleep, I wake it up, it asks for the password, I type the correct password (110% sure), and it responds “Wrong password” – over and over again. Only solution is to shut it down. It then takes forever to start up again, but now [...]

I’m Green Lantern

Ok, since everybody else is doing it… I’m Green Lantern, described on Wikipedia as having… …a “power ring” that gives the user great control over the physical world as long as the wielder has sufficient willpower. Great. So for 2007 I decide that you all start behaving. Ok? No more hitting each other in the [...]

GTD online

There’s a race to be the best Mac GTD app. And the race is certainly on with the online versions too. I’ve looked at Tedium before, and Vitalist (or should I spell it “Vital!st” – nah… that looks like spam…) is similar to Tedium. (Screenshot of Projects pane when adding a new action and assigning [...]

The beauty of Christmas (and holidays)

I was looking through my contacts pictures of Flickr today, and saw this picture by Mary-Anne. The text under it reads… My sister is visiting from halfway across the country. I asked her how long she’s staying. She said “Till Sunday.” And I realized… that meant absolutely nothing to me. This is a good thing. [...]

Mobile phone (not cell phone)

24ways.org makes this good point: If you’re a U.S. resident, listen up: You must rid your vocabulary of the term “cell phone”. We’re one of the few economies on the planet to refer to a mobile phone accordingly. If you care to find yourself in any of the worthwhile mobile development circles, begin using terms [...]

WordPress theme resetting by itself – solution

I’ve had this problem with my theme: It kept resetting back to the standard WordPress theme. I think I’ve figured it out. Or rather: Scott Burkett figured it out: Then I realized that I had recently installed the WP-mobile plugin written by Alex King (although I hadn’t yet had the chance to test it out [...]

Help me decide

Recently I came over two posts on Flickr, where people asked for advice on what to do. First it was Jason Kottke that wanted an opinion on his new glasses. (original post on Flickr here). Then Matt Mullenweg wanted some advice on which dress his girlfriend should wear in an upcoming wedding: (original Flickr posts [...]

How to make a rainbow in Photoshop

Easy and well-illustrated tutorial on how to make a rainbow in Photoshop. Notice that there are two pages, as the rainbow looks like crap after the first page. ;.)

WordPress switching back to default theme by itself

Regular readers may have noticed the new look introduced last week. And if you’re very regular, you may have noticed that the theme keep switching back to the WordPress default theme by itself?? Twice the last 24 hours it has changed back to the default theme. Very strange. So if brilliantdays.com looks like it just [...]

Apple home server

Tom Rowley says the same thing I said some months ago: We need an Xserve home edition (only that he says it about a zillion times better): Automatic syncing of household digital content. Any device on the network that buys a song, TV show, or movie from the iTS will inform the server of its [...]

Apple buys Proximity

Proximity is the maker of Artbox, a media asset management software package that catalogs all your media assets; movies, pictures, graphics and sounds. It integrates with Final Cut Pro already, and works perfectly with Xsan. With Xsan cataloging using Proximity artbox and project level integration between artbox and Final Cut Pro, users are able to [...]
