No pants on the subway

Improve Everywhere’s latest mission was the “NoPants 2k6″.
Taking off my pants on the subway has become a yearly event for me. It has all of the emotions associated with a real holiday: stress, excitement, joy, laughter.
Lots of Improve agents took the subway without pants, so many that the NY police arrested several. LOL. No [...]

MacNews Pro has tags

In August 2005, I wrote that NetNewsWire needs tags:
Tags are – in my opinion – the most clever concept that has been introduced on the net the last years. It gives you and me a fast and easy way to organize bit amounts of data.
And:
Now it’s time for software developers to start adding tags inside [...]

I’m an edge case too

Elizabeth Lane Lawley thinks Robert Scoble is an edge case because he follows 840 blogs in a web feeds reader.
Someone who reads 840 blogs is an edge case. But so is someone who reads dozens of daily newspapers, or runs 10 miles every morning. Their choices may influence our behavior–those edge cases are great at [...]

Oyvind guest star in South Park

I will be a guest star in an upcoming episode of South Park. It’s not a big appearance, just a guy standing next to the main characters when they visit an advertising bureau, looking for a way to sell a secret product. I’m listening to my modded iPod very loud, which annoys the guys.
Or…
Maybe it’s [...]

The newest version of iTunes let you send music streams to several speakers at the same time. So if you have several Airport Express around your house, you can play the same music on all of them now. Cool.

Honey, I shrunk the software!

Gizmodo reports that Apple has shrunk the box of the new iLife package.
“If there’s one thing that really stands out about Apple lately, it’s that its products keep getting smaller and smaller. Just as Apple shrank the iPod with the nano (and subsequently its packaging), the company’s latest consumer software offerings are also arriving in [...]

The MacFash show

Dave Winer doesn’t want to go to MacWorld anymore. OK. But Alexander Williams has a cool idea in the comments:
“I like Flickr. I like blogs. I like search. I like the fact that my daughter is going to knit her own ipod sock. Maybe next year she can exhibit at MacWorld and give me a [...]

Solving Rubik’s cube (and clock)

How about solving Rubik’s cube in 11.13 seconds? Leyan Lo did. And that’s a new world record. He has a page, and pdf document showing how to solve the cube. I’m not sure if I have the energy to push down my personal best of 28 something seconds, but it’s still fun to push the [...]

MemoryMiner – excellent new Mac software
